WHAT IS FREEBAC:
Hydrogen peroxide has long been recognised to have huge benefits - it is generally
been recognised as effective against a huge range of micro-organisms is an excellent
virucide and breaks down into water and oxygen. However it has a major downside and
that is it’s uncontrolled reaction once it comes into contact with micro-organisms
and organics - this means that it is inefficient and that there is much waste.
FREEBAC is based on the idea of adding a stabilising and activating gel to the hydrogen
peroxide to ensure a controlled reaction of the hydrogen peroxide - very little chemical
is wasted and a much better disinfection is achieved.
FEATURES:
· The standard FREEBAC is based on 35% hydrogen peroxide - we can produce any dilution
between 0,5 and 35% upon requested
· Is entirely comprised of food safe ingredients.
· Has a broad-spectrum anti-microbial activity, highly effective against bacteria,
(gram positive and gram negative). It is also a virucide and effective against fungi,
yeast and moulds
· At user dosage it is non-mutagenic, non-carcinogenic, non-toxic, non-corrosive,
non-tainting, non-volatile.
· It has no smell, taste or colour
· Has extended action (residual effect).
· Highly effective against biofilm.
· Is effective even in the presence of organic matter.
· Micro-organisms cannot develop a resistance against Freebac
· Unaffected by pH levels and temperatures up to 90oC.
· Retains its stability when exposed to light.
· Does not taint food when used at manufacturers recommended concentrations.
THE STABILISER:
FREEBAC’s stabiliser comprises only high quality food grade ingredients which are
listed as E-numbers (food additives) and are on the USA EPA list of GRAS products.
The stabiliser prevents the hydrogen peroxide from starting an uncontrolled reaction
and the activator ensure that the reaction is much more effective/powerful. FREEBAC
will only act in the presence of micro-organisms or organics. If these are not present
it just waits until they show up. It has the capability to stop & start it’s reaction
so that no product is wasted - This makes it very efficient and allows low dosage
over a long period of time.
FREEBAC vs SILVER PEROXIDE:
Tests made at TNO (Dutch National Research Institute) clearly demonstrate that FREEBAC
is far superior to silver-peroxide when it comes to disinfection performance. Tests
carried out by KEMA also clearly demonstrate FREEBAC’s superiority in removing biofilm.
These are key criteria's when evaluating the use of a disinfectant for water treatment
(eg: Legionella control) but also as a general disinfectant.
FREEBAC vs TRADITIONAL DISINFECTANTS
Disinfectants such as chlorine, chlorine dioxide, bromine, etc all have drawbacks,
are all seriously toxic, carcinogens, and unpleasant to work with.
- Chlorine is a poor disinfectant at the levels it is used at in water treatment.
It is also very dependent on pH and temperature and is useless against biofilm. Micro-organisms
readily become resistant to chlorine. Known Carcinogenic.
- Bromine, is actually worse than chlorine - carcinogen, ADD & ADHD. Micro-organisms
readily become resistant to Bromine.
- Chlorine dioxide is a very toxic gas and although effective against biofilm, over
time biofilm and bacteria become resistant to it. Known Carcinogenic.
Freebac breaks down into water and oxygen, micro-organisms cannot become resistant
to it, no smell or taste, easy to use, highly effective against micro-organisms and
biofilm. Contains no heavy metals of any type.
TYPES OF FREEBAC:
Over the years we have developed a different number of FREEBAC’s. This was done to
increase the performance of FREEBAC in certain applications. By adapting the composition
of the stabilising & activating gel we have changed the way FREEBAC reacts and theby
increased it’s affectiveness in those applications. This makes FREEBAC extremely
versatile and ensures it’s best performance at all times.
FreeBac D - General disinfectant for all purposes
Freebac Clearoxy - Decontaminant* for food industry
Freebac Mucusol - For fish & seafood processing industry
Freelac - Dairy higiene
Freebac S - For Prawns
Freebac P - Poultry
*Decontaminant - Process aid for in direct contact with foods to ensure that they
maintain a low bacteriological load during processing and also increasing shelf-life
of the produce.
Freebac is sold as:
· Ready to use solution containing 1 to 35% Hydrogen peroxide depending on clients
requirement.
· Concentrate. Example: for the 35% solution 1 kg concentrate makes 10 kg ready to
use product. Simply add H2O2 & demineralised water on location. There are different
types of concentrate depending on dilution strength.
Packaging: upon requirement
