Chlorine is also temperature sensitive and will not function well at temperatures around 30oC or higher, which basically means that adding chlorine to a spa bath/jacuzzi is a bit of a waste..
The EPA is now saying that chlorine is a major health risk problem. The cumulative effects of dioxin in humans have been linked to birth defects, cancer, reproductive disorders and immune system breakdown.

Health Concerns
The list of dangers of chlorinated swimming pools & spa’s goes on. Chlorine, especially in children who frequent chlorinated pools, has also been documented as an aggravating factor in asthma. Several studies have also linked chlorine and chlorinated products to:
Bladder cancer
Breast cancer
Malignant melanoma
Bowel difficulties
Additionally, scientists are exploring a link between treated chlorinated tap water and congenital cardiac anomalies.
